Crawling!!!

Yup, she did it! Well, at least in a very early phase kind of way. This past week she has been gearing up for it, and today she was finally able to lift her hands and knees to move forward while on all fours (and not drop her head or collapse onto her belly)... way to go, Josie!

This is not the best video, but you can kind of see her mad new skills. Needless to say, babyproofing has moved to the top of our home project "queue," putting painting at the#2 spot.

Sela and Josie

Naomi and her 1 year old girl, Sela, were in town this weekend. Sela and Josie had fun hanging out.

This photo captured a moment when Josie was showing off her jumping skills while Sela bounced in place next to her to see what all the hype was about. Pretty cute.

Swim Lesson

Josie had her first swim class today. Unfortunately, it was an overcast morning, and Josie got a little cold in the water (see her in the pink hoodie). She was pretty skeptical and scared the whole time, though she seemed to warm up to it towards the end during "free play."

Almost ready to crawl

She can get up on all fours and rock back-and-forth. It won't be long before she's mobile and she can have fun exploring and causing trouble.

Duckie Bath

Josie inherited this inflatable duck-shaped bathtub from her cousin Colin... it quacks when you press the beak!
She loves taking a bath!

Lunch at Cardinal Point

Lisa's Uncle Richard, Aunt Kathy, and cousins Joseph and Roland are in town and we all had lunch at Cardinal Point, where Josie's great grandparents, Tutu and Four Four live. Josie was very intrigued by Tutu's blouse and wouldn't stop grabbing it.

Seriously cute...

...enough said.

Daddy's girl

Josie loves to help turn the pages of her books, then crush them and suck on them if she can... so we're enjoying the invention of the board book.

Flashback...

I think Josie is about a month old in this photo... time is flying by...
(I love this photo taken by Dan's youngest sister, Laura)

Quilt-astic!

Josie's posing with her new quilt made by a family friend in Portland, Ann Williamson. Ann is a custom clothing designer who uses a lot of piece work and applique techniques and has an amazing eye for prints! She incorporated some Japanese fabric that she found when we traveled to Kyoto together in 2007. Thanks, Ann!
