3 months old

Baby Evie is already 3 months old! She's discovered her hands, is outdoing her sisters's mullet, and likes to blow raspberries.

Learning the Alphabet

Josie is fascinated by the alphabet and currently obsessed with practicing writing letters. We are so impressed! I think she was inspired by the Curious George alphabet story. She has the concept down, but gets frustrated when she thinks she's not getting it right. Her favorites so far are "J" (which she does upside down and backwards) and "O" (which is the same upside down and backwards... so hard to know which orientation she's intending). She's also consistently able to write C, D, E, H, I, M, P, S, T, W, and X. Again, sometimes sideways or backwards, but definitely recognizable. She likes to do the word games in her activity books, so we look for letters and words together, like in this pic.

She has also started to "read" her own books at bedtime. Pretty nonsensical most of the time- kind of like a regurgitated mix of all of the stories she's ever heard, but so cute. Here she is reading a story to Evie:

Grabbing and Cooing

Evie has started to grab things with her hands (mostly inadvertently) and she likes to have "conversations."

Little Painter

One of Josie's favorite activities is painting. She'll paint any surface- boxes, wood blocks, siding...

Big Girl

Evie had her 2 month dr appt last week and she is a BIG girl! Not a surprise really... At almost 14 lbs, she is 99th percentile in height and 88th in weight. Whoa! She now wears clothes that Josie wore when she was 6 to 8 months old.

Painting the "Sleepover House"

Dan designed an awesome addition to Boppa and Zizi's detached garage/studio, which the kids now call the "Sleepover House." Colin and Josie helped Boppa paint the exterior.
