Pointing and New Conversations

She's a very busy girl.  Just in the last few days, Josie has learned about pointing. When we point at something and talk about it, she no longer looks at the outstretched finger, but at the object. And Josephine herself has started pointing at things and telling us about them.
She points to things like: the Baby Bjorn carrier (she loves to strap-in and go for Bjorn rides), the container of Puffs finger food, photos of relatives around the house, small figurines on the mantle that are too fragile for her, but that she wants anyway, and babies and dogs on the street.  This photo shows JoJo pointing at the Puffs container (across the kitchen) because she saw it and she wants Puffs.

This has changed how she communicates too.  Josie has started speaking in phrases, usually exclamations.
JJ: Adah! Dah! (finger outstretched)
DJ: Do you want this? (points to Bjorn carrier)
JJ: Deet deet dit dit dit!

  1. Josie looks so pleased to have mastered "pointing." You'll have so much more to talk about now, and questions that must be answered!
