Spring Camping at Mt Diablo

Our first camping trip this year was a huge success. Our friend Adam and his son Max joined us at Mt Diablo, where the wildflowers were blooming and the temperatures were perfect. We had a site at Juniper campground, pretty far up the mountain. We had to bring in our own water and there were no flushing toilets or working faucets (the park relies on it's own creeks, etc. for water so due to the drought there is a shortage), but it worked out fine. Max and Josie got along great, and had a blast exploring the boulders and caves at Rock City.

We would definitely recommend this place to our friends with kids - nice, clean, well maintained campground (despite the lack of water), fun activities, and just a 40 minute drive away! We'll be coming back again next year, or maybe even in the fall, when it begins to cool off.
