Picnicking Princesses

Pretend Car

Josie came up with this fun pretend car set up, using the loose carseats we had laying around in the living room. Couch pillows and bench cushion for the sides. The were both sure to bring along their babies and lots of activities for a road trip.

Moustaches

One of the best birthday party favors ever... stick on moustaches!

Gymnastics Class

Josie just finished her first gymnastics session with two of her friends from school. It was probably the highlight of her year, if not her entire life. What could be better than getting to wear a dance leotard, somersaulting into a foam pit, jumping on a trampoline, and doing it all with your friends! Needless to say, all the girls loved it, even Evie who went every week and watched with me from the sidelines.

Spring Camping at Mt Diablo

Our first camping trip this year was a huge success. Our friend Adam and his son Max joined us at Mt Diablo, where the wildflowers were blooming and the temperatures were perfect. We had a site at Juniper campground, pretty far up the mountain. We had to bring in our own water and there were no flushing toilets or working faucets (the park relies on it's own creeks, etc. for water so due to the drought there is a shortage), but it worked out fine. Max and Josie got along great, and had a blast exploring the boulders and caves at Rock City.

We would definitely recommend this place to our friends with kids - nice, clean, well maintained campground (despite the lack of water), fun activities, and just a 40 minute drive away! We'll be coming back again next year, or maybe even in the fall, when it begins to cool off.

Tahoe 2014

With this year's drought, we only made one trip up to the mountains this winter. Despite the not-so-great conditions, Josie did her first ski lesson and did a great job. Maybe next year she can try it again!

Visiting Portland

We love visiting Portland. We made a trip in January, along with my parents, stayed with friends, went to Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI) twice, visited lots of other friends and had an awesome time.
