We pumped up the inflatable kiddie pool for Josie's first skinny dip on this hot weekend. She stretched out, rolled, and turned in two inches of water. She could sit up in the water, with an adult's hand ready to catch any unsteady topples. She was surprised a few times when she put her head down and got a wet face. We showed her how to splash (creating a monster?) and she did her first open-palm splashing. (Just like shaking the rattle, but in a pool with no rattle.) We discovered that she preferred the pool on a slope, with a "deep end" and a dry beach opposite. We're looking forward to more unseasonably warm days in Albany. She's gaining physical ability so quickly, we can't wait to see what her next "swimming" session is like.
